I was going through the same thing, but the thing was, I liked the guy that my (EX) best friend went to high school with. (We all didn't go to the same high school) He and I liked each other, but then I found out that she went to hang out with him. Her response after confronting her over the phone, "well you hung out with him 3 times already and I didn't get to hang out with him." The hell? So when I asked if anything happened, she said no, but knowing the kind of person she is and the tone of voice didn't convince me. It was one of the reasons why I had to cut her off, along with other things. And it's going on 3 years. I have completely shut down emotionally over that ish.

And do you know how she attempted to make me feel better days after that incident? She sent me a yahoo greetings card with a picture of some man with the caption "there are other fish in the sea." The hell?

I say, don't tell your friend everything about your new man because then they start getting curious and want to sample him themselves.

my mom told me this as a teen & I swear by it. To date, I've never had such an incident as described here happen to me. Maybe my homegirls know better, or we just don't like the same type of dudes, or maybe mom's advice is just so dead-on.

but if someone close to me DID lose her ever-loving mind and betrayed me like that? I have no qualms grabbing my butcher knife and paying her a visit. And for HIM? Oh, I'd have to call Pookie n dem right quick. No one crosses me... NO ONE!

WOW I really did not know how frequently this happens until it was done to me. Its heart-breaking for sure. I put most of my heart-breaking situation on being young, naive and too trust worthy...feeling like Oh My BFF of 9yrs loves me way too much to cross me like that and oh My Boyfriend of 4years would never want to hurt me...BULLSHIT people can be so selfish and such whores....as you my mama and other friends try to warn me about my then BFF but my blinders were on...sorry for your heart-break mama. I don't catch cases over any man. It's not that serious. If they want to kick it with each other, that's cool. Trust and believe that friendship is over and so is my relationship. Why fight over the dude? and don't give me that it's the principle that counts cause it doesn't. Having some kind of dignity and pride won't allow you to stoop to their level. But what if it was someone that you loved, trusted and were thinking about marrying. When all those emotions are put into play, he wasn't just a random dude, he meant something to you. And not to mention the amount of years and growth you and this friend went through. Now add the betrayal. Dignity and pride are great but that pain is also something that you can't ignore. I think it's less about fighting over a guy and fighting to understand how people could be so fucked up. Imagine yourself in that position. And believe or not, it could happen to ANYONE, no matter how great, pretty, or intelligent. Shit happens and it hurts.

OOHHHH LORD!!! You got me riled up with this one. Luckily, this has never happened to me. This is why I barely talk to my friends about what's going my relationships. Not that I don't trust necessarily trust them, but I prefer to keep the two separate to avoid unnecessary confusion and he said/she said drama.

Thankfully I've never had to deal with this *knock on wood*, but if I ever found myself in this situation both parties would get their walking papers. Both are guilty equally because they crossed the same line together.

I'm lucky to have known my girls for so long; they're like sisters. And most men can tell from watching us interact that his shit would be put on blast with a quickness if he ever tried that mess. Surround yourself with positive women and you won't have to worry about this kind of nonsense.

I hate to generalize and say men can't be trusted but since it's in their "nature" to want to concur random pussy...weeelllll, they can't be trusted :-D

However, If you choose to befriend chicks who stay embroiled in unnecessary drama and/or flirt with and fuck around with their other friends/sisters/cousins/strangers boyfriends, hell if she cheats on her own man, then yeah that chick is quite likely to make a move on yours or fail to resist if he makes a move on her

Check a chick's character before you call her your friend and these situations are easily avoided - this applies to family members too, just cause she's your cousin don't mean the bitch is trustworthy

And as far as mother's and Nana's, that's the truth.
A person will always tell you about themselves through their behavior, it's just up to you whether you choose to notice it.

On a side note: It takes two to tango, I couldn't allow him to slide because they're both just as wrong, but situations like these make you appreciate when you do find a sincere person, whether they're a girlfriend or a mate.
