I think it's kinda lame to say I won't date a woman w/ a weave, but then be like oh well she needs to have pretty hair. That's why I decided to cut alot of my hair off and grow it natural because I think a man that can appreciate a natural-haired woman is a tad more evolved that these superficial @zzholes on here talkin.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

Lmao @ the commercial.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

This commercial is the pits.

That said, I'm of the opinion that a REAL down for sisters black man doesn't care if hair is real or fake, just that it looks good. A preference is cool but hating on weaves is so 1995! Its 2009, women of all types wear hair extensions.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

people always make it seem like black women are the only ones who wear extentions or weaves. white women ARE doing it to, especially the ones on televison. NOT all black females are bald headed.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

I wear my hair natural, and it's a PAIN! I will throw in extensions, be it weave or braids, here and there to give my hair a break. I would probably do it more often if I could afford to. Weave is waay easier to manage than natural hair. Of course, I don't go all crazy w/it down my back. I like it to look as natural as possible. Men don't realize that all the heat or chemicals used to make the hair straighter is damaging to the hair over long periods of time. Would you rather a woman with a nice weave and a healthy head of hair underneath, or a woman with no weave with damaged, thin hair? Either way, they're probably gonna get talked about, huh?

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

women with shorter hair do wear weave for more length. however my hair falls just below my neck and its thick and healthy, but i'll still rock a weave.i'll wear one for more length so i can have what i call "video girl curls." i have to buy a 14-16inch yaki b/c 12 is too short. weave is easier to manage than my natural hair. IMO just do u, would your opinion of a chick change from good to bad just b/c of hair? i dont think men care that much. :)

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

ive been wearing weave since 2001 and i started with a 10 inch, then a 12 in and know im at a 14...i didnt hop skip and jump i just did a little at a time, ive always kept ir up and its always on point, and people always tell me its cute..even absolute strangers so...i think im doing something right, and i dont care what men say they can not ever tell, and if they do know its weave it has never stopped them from dating me so i dont think its a big deal. Do you this is what i like on me and its what works for me, its my cross to bear, so i feel like men who dont date women cause they wear weave are fine with me cause i dont date men who dont date women who wear weave :)

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

i know its just a commercial, chuckled. i know white women wear weaves, damn near everyone in hollywood add a few pieces in. just my first thought damn why they all gotta be blk? nothing wrong with weaves to each its own. women like to change their hair often so im all for weave for change & thinkness. shit im thinkin bout puttin in a weave to give my hair a break thru the summer....of course i gotta problem with the ones that have tacky ass terribly done weaves....

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

I don't wear one, but I agree with those that wrote that as long as the weave blends in with your hair flawlessly you're good. It's the obvious hair texture & hairline infractions that sully the weave's good name!

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

Of course they do...it was just a commercial. I saw Wendy Williams last night and she had Lynda Carter (wonder woman) on her show. Lynda was like she didn't know what she would do if there was no weave...her hair is very thin I guess. Relax boo...

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

Yes! Thankfully my wife doesn't wear them. I prefer real as possible. Unfort thanks to my big mouth and opinions i get stuck w/the beauty salon bill every week.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

I think some women miss the point. Some women overdo everything, and it doesnt look natural. Dont get a weave down to your butt and have a different texture of hair for the weave and then yo scalp is nappy. Dont have on caked up makeup on your face thats 5 shades lighter than the skin on your neck. I think if you have a weave and a guy can tell, then your doing it right, if you wear make up and a guy cant tell your wearing it, then your doing it right.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

wait, why this commerical gotta take place in a black hair salon.
white people dont wear tracks weave?

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

I PREFER A FEMALE WITH REAL HAIR, I ALSO PREFER A FEMALE WHO DOESN'T WEAR CAKED ON MAKEUP ALL THE TIME. I GUESS I'M TRYING TO SAY THAT I LOVE FOR MY GIRL TO BE AS NATURAL AS POSSIBLE. NOT INTO BALLED HEADED WOMEN, MOST BLACK WOMEN WEAR WEAVE BUT IN MY FAMILY WHICH IS ALSO BLACK THEY DON'T NEED WEAVE OR WEAR IT. WHAT WOULD SOME WOMEN DO IT THERE WEREN'T A SUCH THING AS WEAVE, BECAUSE SOME WEAR IT ALL THE TIME AND IT'S PROBABLY BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE ANY HAIR OF THEIR OWN? I ALSO FEEL LIKE IF YOU'RE GOING TO WEAR WEAVE, DON'T GET IT ALL FOOLISH LOOKING TO WHERE IS A MILLION TIMES LONGER THAN YOU OWN..

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

LMAO!!! See, I don't even do weaves or wigs but I know guys prolly don't care...tracks showing or not...

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

LOL @ that story

Also, I'm just the opposite. I'd rather rock braids or tracks than to have to "do" my hair every morning. It shaves off about 15 - 20 minutes from my to-do list without jeopardizing hair growth (I relax my hair when not "styled".

But, just like you, I say do what makes you feel good and 4get what anyone else has to say about it.

As far as men go, when I wear tracks, they can never just say, "your hair look nice." It's always followed by, "Is it yours?", so I guess there are men who care (at least in DC). Also, I've had my brother tell me that I should wear my own hair "in 2009"...I just laughed and told him to shut up. Oh, and I only pay for braids, which run me about $200, but if it lasts for 2 months, then that's about $3.00 per day, which isn't bad.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

I personally won't date a chick that wears a weave. That's nothing but a turn off to me.

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

Very funny commercial!

But I don't think there's anything wrong with weave either. I really don't do the tracks or anything, but I will get some braids in a heartbeat...I even have some in now because its been soo long since I last had my hair braided. But as long as it looks good on you and you're not looking tore up...rock it out! And we ladies have to make sure we get hair that actually looks like it could be ours. I HATE seeing a lady with a weave that looks like a weave!

Re: Do Guys Really Care About Real Hair

Haha

I don't think it's anything wrong with wearing a weave...every once in a blue moon I get my hair braided and get extensions. But for the most part I don't because I HATE!!!! going to the shop and also because it's just too much work! Give me a bag of rollers and some setting lotion and I'm good! lol

I agree I don't think most guys mind it. It is what it is and if it looks good...do you! The only time I've ever heard a guy say something negative (not in a joking manner) about it was in an argument one of my gfriends was having with her man. This fool was throwing tracks and ponytails out the dang on bathroom...telling her that her and all her horses could get out...smh and lol.
