To my understanding people say it's okay to make fun of Bush cuz he is white but when someone does anything to a black persons action must be taken immediatly, thats not right

Looking at it with simplistic eyes it is appalling and disgusting but when you take a step back and really think about it it should make us all smile inside - it's their unwitting admission that they now "KNOW" their time has come, or is ending depending on how you want to look at it - they are scared.

If this is the best they got then let them waste their time trying to distract and dissuade the weak-minded with their silly parodies....let Tiffany, Chance, Real and whoever else make asses out of themselves on TV, as embarrassing as it is to witness it only offers slight resistance to our progress as a people...a progress that EVERY other "minority group" known to man references and piggy backs on for their own causes.

Let's not let the face of entertainment fool us, although powerful it is grossly inaccurate in its depiction of our people, much like the drunk uncle that shows out at every holiday gathering DOES NOT represent your family as a whole, these characters do not represent US as a whole - believe there are, BY FAR, more Barack's than there are Chance's - there are, BY FAR, more Michelle's than there are Tiffany's - they're not in the public eye but they are out there in spirit, intelligence, success and overall seriousness about family and life in general and they/we are the ones making CHANGE!

Let's leave Jennifer and those like her to their simple ignorance...how funny is she?!

Republicans believe in a meritocracy? Would that were true; if so, they wouldn't believe in inheritance, wouldn't believe in passing wealth and status to their children. Would, instead, insist on their progeny fending for themselves. Getting ahead by what they DO; by their "merits".

But they don't. Instead, in the GOP world, everything is 'connections'. It's about who you know, not what you know. It's about your connections, your granddaddy's club, your daddy's pals, the special favors they call in for you, to get you ahead; first, in college, then, in business. No wonder we are failing in every area of our economy today, and sliding into recession -- that's what you get when leaders are where they are because their daddies got them there ... not because of, er, "merit".

I didn't mean to come off as bashing all republicans, but the neo-con wing has mocked blacks for far too long. There are a lot of good republicans, I honestly think McCain is one of them along with a few others. But those Neo-Cons like Karl Rove... and his mocking rap, and a bunch of others just go too far and don't think about the effects of their little jokes. This is very offensive to me as a black man and as an American. To know that my race was put through slavery, oppressed and sprayed with hoses, denied the right to vote, read and earn a decent wage, among other things this type of stuff should not be coming from OUR gov't.

A regular citizen... ok, it would still be offensive but not worth of writing about...

I think that this story is worthy of our laughter, not because the lyrics are funny or offensive, but because Obama won and the grand ol' party (and 90% of my neighbors) can't get their heads around it. But can Rush really keep at it with Obama in the white house? Calm, cool and "right" (correct and successful) wins out every time over petty, desperate and disasterous in action. So let's laugh together, black and white, urban and suburban laugh all the way to a better America where those fat white guys, rich and poor, (and your silly roommates prior commenter) just don't matter any more, their power will dissipate and that's when race won't matter quite so much. They'll learn from the brownish person living ever nearer to them what Americans look like and act like. Its a power thing too that has shifted to some extent-- now, I can tease my boss all day long about getting old or getting fat and he'll laugh, I have no control over his future so he doesn't care what I think and the law does not protect him from me, but he'd better not mock me, or I"ll be his boss tomorrow or retire on my sexual harassment settlement. It is the combination of retained power and race that makes the difference and that is all shook up right now. With regard to being "black enough" ask those same RNC fellows and rush how black they'd think barack was if he moved in next door or showed up to take their daughter out. The strongest remaining effect of Race today in America is in the power dynamic and proximity of direct experience. The funniest racial joke I've heard lately was from a black friend of my brothers from an ivy league college who sent out an email to all his old friends the day after the election that said "All white people report to the cotton fields at 7am for orientation." Race can be funny between the races when we are on equal footing (or distant like a comedian on TV).

FYI-I am a white woman in the suburbs of Birmingham and I supported Obama from day one with yard signs to announce the arrival of rational thought to my lily white neighborhood (had to replace the signs a few times, put up an extra one each time). Not funny.

I am a college freshman and I live with two white girls. They love to watch youtube, and laugh constantly at the parodies that involve black people acting ghetto, they have even passed buttons on face book to each other with lines from the parody written on them….I watched it for myself and thought that it wasn’t even a funny parody. (i say all this to say that they spend alot of time laughing at us & think that is how we are)They watch the shows that depict black people in an ignorant manner, listen to hip hop, watch bet and think that they have a 101 on how black people are. I feel that the main problem is that instead of just associating ignorant behavior to the one behaving ignorantly, they tend to associate it with black people as a whole …my main issue is that the music that is so appalling to them is also appalling to most of us, and everything else that is wrong in the black community. I feel as though they think that just because a black leader is black that all black people stand behind what he or she is saying even if it is blatantly wrong….or just because it is a black tv show all black people love ad adore it or because it is on bet that it is a correct depiction of black people…I for one as many other black people have stopped watching bet because of the buffoonery that is often displayed. This is why people who go on tv or make music need to be conscious of the fact that whether it is right or wrong; people see them as representing our race and that they should act like they have some sense instead of like a fool for a dollar.

There really is no empathy between races....really sad

Who forces anything on blacks nowadays? I was born naked into this world like everyone else, and surely don't think it owes me anything. I'm sure the British probably defeated my ancestors on the battlefield in Scotland more than once, but I don't hold it out as the justification for everything that goes wrong in my life. This is the biggest criticism of the Democratic party I have, that it sells victimhood. Republicans believe in a meritocracy, that your rights are derived from the individual. Democrats believe in protected classes, that your rights are derived from the group. Until you can't get past this, blacks will continue to be disparaged as a weight on society.

If the neo-cons were racist, they wouldn't turn a blind eye to 12 to 20 million illegal aliens in this country. The left doesn't ever address this disparity, I guess, its politically expedient to call names. :( What is never addressed without the Democrats crying foul are the racists in their own party. Tell me blacks didn't vote for Obama in the Democratic primary over Hillary because he was black? Or should we ignore a little racism since it was an historical first? I don't like hypocrisy.
