dutch is NOT cool if you are just starting out. I can hang out solo and not run the risk of hating the person I promised to spend time with. At least if YOU pay and it was a bad date I wasn't tortured...and if it was a good date you will have the chance to make me WANT o go dutch in the future.

my coworker paid for my lunch from golden crust and it was about 5 avenues not blocks away-- in a fucking blizzard. He said he'll pay if I go get it- I was a college student, i threw on my timbs and got it. While eating lunch in teh break room he actually tried to fuck me and tried to pull the I paid for this, it came up to 30 dollars. wtf. Dude was married with kids with three bitches on the side. I guess that shit works for some people. Just not me.

Good suggestions. Although Im not too sure about the seperate laptops surfing the web, that seems a little detatched and is similar to playin wii or PS3. It's like you just want to be in each other's presence without conversing. IDK...the bookstore is great tho. And I'm always down with wings, beer and football!!!! And dutch is great. I think it says something about a persons character if they reach without being asked.

I get a kick when me and my boo sit side by side with or laptops surfing the web. It is a time when I realize that we can be compatible sometimes. Dutch as I stated before isn't a problem but when it is dutch everytime u two go out that is what I have issues with. Or if he expects u to pay and he is the one that asked u to dinner.

I understand ur point of view. As far as me I do have my own and I am very independent. I am just saying a woman does want a man that can be independent also and nothing is wrong with taking turns in a relationship ie. the female paying. Thats cool and all. I am just saying men that want to act like "I got this" type mentality and when its time for the check " Shawty I forgot my wallet in my other pants". That is what I have a issue with. See - to spring that "I aint got no cash" WHEN the check comes is simply not cool. Why not state that long ahead of time? What if I didn't have any either? What happens then? Are we still washing dishes for a meal in '08? LOL I had that happen to me once in a lingerie store. Dude told me days in advance he wanted to "take me shopping" for some nice new panties/bras/lingerie. I picked out all the things he liked. We get to the register and then BAM........."Oh I don't have any money - I just brought you here". I was so f*ucking embarassed. The cashier was embarassed for me too and gave him a busted and disgusted look.

One benefit of going dutch is you don't anybody anything. In this economy, I agree w/Xilla there's got to be some adjustments. You are doing fun & cheap things-TOGETHER- that's the key word. Sometimes, I just need the carefree, not calculating how much gas I shoulda woulda coulda bought had we not ordered shrimp. 1/2 price is a great thing-Happy Hour. BTW, I really LOVE LOVE LOVE the bookstore. Me and my husband are complete opposites. Sitting in the bookstore w/laptops after browsing thru all the books-priceless. I'd be romance to death if he asked me to do this and surfed the web. It'd be on when we got back to the crib. I also love museums, again-priceless. Great ideas! P.S. f*** going to the movie-not worth it!

I personally have no problem with the museum or the park. Those can be very romantic dates if ur with the right person. But when you start talking about getting something to eat and you dont have any money that is a issue for me. Don't ask if u aint got it.
